Our Mission:

Proverbs 22:6 to train a child in the way a child should follow so that when the child is old will not forget.

Short History

The result of a 20 years conflict that between Ugandan Government and a rebel group called the Lord’s Resistance Army has had a devastating effect on children in northern Uganda. Many children where left as orphans. These orphans are categorized in two ways; those who are total orphans without any parent; they died of the virus of HIV/AIDS or due to the protracted armed conflict. The second groups of students are those orphans who have one parent; mother or father; one is deceased and the one living with the child. Besides their educational need, all these students need love, care and protection. Oyam Progressive School is here to provide this love along with health care and protection for each child.

Our School & Orphanage

Oyam Progressive School is an elementary school and Orphanage that was founded in the district of Oyam in the town of Loro, Northern Uganda. The school has a student population of about 300 students. There is also a well that has been drilled to serve the school and the community. This learning centre is now in its 4rd year of existence with orphans and some children from the community also attending classes.

energy/power.
